Organisational certification

KD AI Standard

A verifiable certification for organisations that do not merely use AI but keep it in order. Five published criteria, a serial numbered record, a public verification page and one year of validity.

Why this exists

Anyone can claim to be an AI ready company. Most certifications on the market are a PDF and a logo with no criteria, no verifiability and no expiry behind them. Such a badge says nothing, and serious counterparties do not treat it as evidence.

KD AI Standard is the opposite. The criteria are public, compliance is documented, and the issued record can be looked up by anyone using its serial number. When it expires, it expires. That is precisely what gives it value.

The five criteria

1

A written AI policy

The organisation has an adopted, written AI policy setting out approved tools, data handling boundaries and what data must never leave the company. The policy is dated and has a named owner.

2

Documented training

At least eighty percent of staff who use AI in their work have completed documented AI training, verifiable by name. This also covers the AI literacy expectation of the EU AI Act.

3

A named internal owner

There is one named individual who owns questions and decisions about AI use. Not a committee and not shared responsibility, but a person who can be asked.

4

At least one measured, live process

There is at least one real workflow where AI is in production use, with a baseline measurement and an outcome measurement. Experiments and demos do not count, only what forms part of daily operations.

5

Human control and review

It is recorded which decisions keep a human in the loop and where subsequent review is sufficient. The organisation commits to an annual review, which is the condition for renewal.

What the organisation receives

A serial numbered record that anyone can look up on the public verification page. The lookup shows the company name, the issue and expiry dates, and whether the certification is still valid.

Alongside it, a badge for the company's own website, proposals and tender documents, carrying the serial number and a link to the verification page.

How to obtain it

The process starts with a conversation where we walk through the five criteria and establish where the organisation stands. Typically one or two are already met and the rest need work.

Where something is missing, we close the gap with the existing services. The policy and documented training form part of the AI compliance package, while the measured process and the named owner are built up in the full adoption package or the 90 day programme. Once every criterion is met, the certification can be issued.

The certification is valid for one year. Renewal requires an annual review confirming that the policy, the training and the measured processes remain in order.

Half an hour is enough to walk through the five criteria and identify what is missing. If everything is in place, the certification can be issued straight away.
